The UN GC strives to strengthen corporate social responsibility, sustainable business and measures for climate protection. Every summer, the UN GC holds its LEADERS SUMMIT, a platform for thought-sharing and encouragement of leaders to become drivers in turning political agreements into responsible and sustainable business. 22-23 June, the newly adopted Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Climate Agreement were the focus of the debates 2016.
Within the next 15 years, business, politics and civil society have to find viable solutions to some of the biggest, most important economic, social, environmental and governance challenges of our time. The SDGs will unleash the forces of tomorrow's market. Against the background of the many conflicts stemming from globalization and an increasing income gap in many parts of the world, participating leaders in the Summit were urged to become ethical drivers and turn global goals into mutually beneficial local business.
DtMG-President Dr Achim Deja represented the DtMG e.V. at this year’s Summit. Through actively participating in the many opportunities to connect, co-create and communicate the opportunities that lie within the SDGs, he made sure that DtMG will continue to be at the forefront of vital international debates and developments.
